A living gemstone region
Sri Lanka's gem-bearing gravels have supported generations of miners, cutters, dealers and lapidaries. A stone's route can involve several skilled hands before it reaches a finished jewel.
Origin and sourcing are different claims
A laboratory origin opinion concerns geological origin. A sourcing record concerns the people and commercial path through which CEYLON CEYLON encountered the stone. Both should be described accurately and separately.
